Tokenized US stocks in Germany
Good news: Pump.fun doesn't block Germany, so you can buy tokenized US stocks there with crypto. We haven't checked local tax or legal rules yet, so have a quick look at the notes below first.

How it works
Screenshots from the Pump.fun app, October 2026. Prices are just examples.

1.Open the Stocks tab
Tesla, Micron, the QQQ ETF and more, priced in dollars. Heads up: the “Pre-IPO” ones aren't shares in those companies.

2.Pick the stock you want
Tap a stock to see its chart, then hit the green button to trade. Check for the badge next to the name so you get the real token, not a lookalike.

3.Buy with USDC
No crypto yet? Tap Deposit and top up with Apple Pay (Apple Card works too) or a debit or credit card. The fee shows before you hit Submit — 0.40% with a referral code.

Crypto rules in Germany
The EU's MiCA rules for crypto service providers have applied since 30 December 2024, and BaFin runs Germany's authorisation process.
MiCA covers coins like Bitcoin and Ether. Tokenized shares count as financial instruments, which fall outside MiCA and follow other rules.
Money and tax in Germany
Local currency: Euro (EUR). Card and Apple Pay top-ups are converted to USDC, so your card provider may add a currency conversion fee.
Tax: For ordinary crypto you hold privately, selling within a year can be taxable income, while selling after a year is generally tax-free (Federal Ministry of Finance guidance, March 2025). Tokenized stocks may not count as ordinary crypto, so the one-year rule might not apply. Check with a tax adviser.
What you're actually buying
A token that tracks a real US share 1:1. The issuer holds the actual shares; you hold the token. Price moves and reinvested dividends, yes. Voting rights and a seat at the shareholder meeting, no.
More on how tokenized stocks workGood to know in Germany
- Germany follows the EU's MiCA rules, so crypto platforms serving German residents need an EU licence. BaFin's company database shows who's authorised.
- Phantom's tokenized stocks aren't available in Germany, according to Phantom's own region list.
- German brokers also sell real US shares, which may be the simpler route.
- Gains may be taxable. A local tax adviser can tell you how.

Questions people ask
Does Germany's one-year tax-free rule apply to tokenized stocks?
Don't assume so. The rule is for ordinary crypto held privately, and tokens that work like securities may be taxed differently.
Is swapping crypto taxable in Germany?
It can be. Swapping one crypto for another, or paying with crypto, can count as a sale for tax purposes.
Are tokenized US stocks legal in Germany?
Honestly, it depends on the product and on Germany's own rules for securities, crypto and moving money abroad. We haven't finished checking Germany yet, so we're not making a legal call. The regulator linked on this page is the best place to check.
Do I own the actual shares?
Usually not directly. With xStocks, the issuer holds the real shares and you hold a token that tracks them. Other products work differently — some are just contracts tracking the price. Voting rights and cash dividends are normally not included.
Can I use a VPN if an app blocks Germany?
Please don't. Getting around location blocks, sanctions or ID checks breaks the app's rules, can get your money frozen, and may be illegal.
